When I'm home alone at night while my parents are out with my aunt and uncle until one or two in the morning, I find it hard to fall asleep. I have an overactive imagination and my cats make the house creek. When my parents left me home alone over MEA break, I worked out plans with my friends so I wouldn't have to spend a night alone. Is it weird that I have a hard time sleeping when no one else is home?
It's not odd, but it may be a bit of a phobia. I personally would love to be home alone for a few days so I didn't have to tiptoe around napping people or worry about waking people up in the morning before school. I don't like to talk to anyone until I get to school. I do agree that being home alone at night can be unnerving, especially if you hear distant voices or see cars park on the street outside your house for no reason. Personally, I play video games or leave on the stereo to make it feel better in the house if I do feel lonely. And also, I sleep best when it's dark and quiet, so being home alone is no big deal.
