Would you want to join a sorority or a fraternity? In theory they sound like a great way to meet new people. I would personally consider joining one if no hazing took place.
I think they sound a little creepy. I mean, the people in them usually are united under a common cause and that's cool, but the Greek names and the rituals (not to mention the wild parties at some of them) are more than enough reasons for people to avoid them. There are other ways to find those who have common ideals.
